HOW RRT IMPROVES THE ALLSTON-BRIGHTON COMMUNITY

EMPOWERMENT THROUGH
PHYSICAL FITNESS

By encouraging our athletes to participate in practices and races regularly, it helps them develop their physical fitness, which in turn helps them understand that they can overcome challenges. Our athletes often go on to participate in other sports and continue to make physical fitness an important part of their lives.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Through our Monthly Meetings, local races, and partnerships with local businesses and organizations, RRT strives promote and foster connection and community engagement. While running is often thought of as an individual activity, RRT is a team and each athlete treats one another as such.

PERSONAL GROWTH

Our athletes often share that through practicing and running races, it helps them develop a sense of self confidence and self assuredness. It shows them that they can work hard and accomplish things that they set their minds to.

LEADERSHIP

RRT empowers youth to step into leadership roles, starting with our older athletes helping the younger youth during races and at practice. This translates to encouraging them to become more comfortable stepping into leadership roles outside of RRT.

“Being taught about hard work and discipline, kids will be more willing to reach out and achieve their goals and give back to the community."

Kenneth J. Holman

"RRT enables anyone that is interested in getting healthy to participate without feeling nervous or self-conscious. You really feel like you are part of a family here where everyone cares."

Ellen and Jim Kelly

"Because of this program, my kids are more fit, more outgoing, more self-confident and more inspired to do good things for themselves and the community."
